Applied Genetic Technologies Corporation (Nasdaq: AGTC), a biotechnology company conducting human clinical trials of adeno-associated virus (AAV)-based gene therapies for the treatment of rare diseases, has closed an underwritten public offering of 7,475,000 shares of its common stock, which includes an additional 975,000 shares pursuant to the full exercise of the over-allotment granted to the underwriters. The shares were sold at the public offering price of $5.00 per share, resulting in the gross proceeds for Applied Genetic Technologies of approximately $37.4 million.
